Homestay Program
At a Glance
Each year, Frameline helps over 50 filmmakers travel to the Bay Area for the San Francisco International Film Festival. Bringing LGBTQ+ filmmakers to our city is only possible because of Frameline’s community — and the Homestay Program.
So, how does the Homestay Program work? Folks with a spare room, fold-out couch, or rental property volunteer to host filmmakers for free during the festival (June 18–28, 2025). Our Hospitality Team then matches filmmakers with hosts based on availability and living preferences. This vital program makes international travel more accessible for Frameline’s filmmakers; in turn, hosts receive complimentary tickets to enjoy festival screenings.
