Bay Area multihyphenate Brontez Purnell made his directorial debut with this semi-autobiographical "video mixtape," centering on DeShawn (played by Purnell), an HIV-positive homo whose boyfriend no longer wants to have sex, and his romantic/sexual misadventures around SF.

This short film block encompasses the vastness of the Black diasporic experience transcending time and space, inspired by poet Nikki Giovanni’s proclamation, “the trip to Mars can only be understood through Black Americans.”
