Frameline's Code of Conduct

Frameline’s mission is to change the world through the power of queer cinema by connecting filmmakers with audiences in the Bay Area and around the world. We value creative expression, diversity in all its forms, and the multitude of lived experiences and perspectives of those who make up our community. While we appreciate well-intentioned dialogues and the sharing of differing opinions at the Festival, we will NOT tolerate harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior in any form.

When attending Frameline events, all guests, filmmakers, staff, volunteers, press, vendors, partners, sponsors, and Festival participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner in order to uphold our organization’s commitment to hosting safe, inclusive experiences for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. This expectation extends to both in-person and digital interactions, including social media, online event platforms, and any digital communications related to Frameline events.

That said, our events are to be free of harassment and discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, class, age, or ability. Harassment, including threatening behavior, language, physical acts of violence, and creating a hostile environment, will NOT be tolerated. When this Code of Conduct is violated, Frameline reserves the right to revoke, without notice or refund, tickets, passes, credentials, or access to our events and venues. Retaliation against individuals who report violations of this Code of Conduct or who participate in an investigation is strictly prohibited and will be treated as a separate violation.

Frameline is committed to taking all reports seriously and responding appropriately. Any individual who witnesses or experiences a violation of this Code of Conduct should inform a Frameline staff member immediately.
