We're excited to keep you in the loop on all things Frameline (with no spam - ever!)

At Frameline, we believe in the transformative power of film to foster empathy, bridge divides, and illuminate our shared humanity even amidst conflict.
Frameline stands in solitary with vulnerable communities worldwide who are enduring the devastating effects of conflict. From the ongoing humanitarian crises in Palestine, Sudan, Ukraine, Myanmar, Ethiopia, the DRC, and beyond – violence and displacement leave deep scars including and sometimes especially on LGBTQ+ communities.
Frameline joins the United Nations, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and our global community to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian political prisoners, and delivery of humanitarian aid. We condemn violence against all civilians and actively champion the protection of human rights globally.
We are inspired by the resilient and righteous history of global LGBTQ+ communities that demand civil rights, safety, and justice in country after country. As a film festival by and for LGBTQ+ people, it is our role as a cultural platform to engage audiences through film, encourage the understanding of complex experiences, find common ground and challenge harmful narratives.
Therefore, Frameline is committed to:
• Showcasing LGBTQ+ Voices from Conflict Zones: We will actively seek out and amplify the stories of LGBTQ+ people from conflict areas, sharing their experiences through film.
• Building a Global Community: We foster connections between LGBTQ+ communities worldwide, finding strength and resilience in solidarity.
• Celebrate the Power of Storytelling: We are committed to the role film plays in nurturing understanding, compassion and a more just world for all.
We invite you to join us in using film to broaden our perspectives and strengthen our resolve to build a more peaceful future. Explore our programs, support our work, and let the stories we share inspire an unshakeable empathy that moves us toward a more just and free global community.
