Lining up a perfectly paired funny/sad comedy duo in Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live) and Jack Plotnick (Girls Will Be Girls), writer/director Jason Laurits re-imagines Stephen King's Misery as a much gayer and much funnier tale of celebrity kidnapping. After a series of misfortunes, washed-up television "icon," Blake de Troy — best known for his appearances on the long-off-the-air gameshow The Hollywood Surprise — is rescued from a car accident by his biggest (and only living) fan Antoinette Funk. Bedridden in the Everglades swamps, Blake believes that he's been kidnapped by the sweet-natured but slightly deranged Antoinette.
Desperate for a career boost, Blake soon realizes that maybe a kidnapping scandal is just the shameless publicity he’s been looking for. Also starring SF’s own Lady Camden as an insufferable YouTube make-up influencer, Loves Company is a cautionary tale of why you should never meet your idols… or your fans.
