My uncle died in 1997 from AIDS. His death led directly to my birth. In that way, I sort of owe everything to him. This is the story of the uncle who I have never met but the ripples of whose legacy live on in every breath I take.

To the world, Roy Blakey is a pioneering gay photographer who amassed the world's largest collection of figure skating memorabilia. But to award-winning filmmaker Keri Pickett, he's beloved Uncle Roy. She reconstructs his extraordinary life through vivid archival footage and interviews, but as his memory begins to fade the film becomes a way of recounting his legacy back to him — and sharing it with us.
