Fresh off of winning the Audience Award at Frameline49 with Castration Movie Anthology i. Traps, Louise Weard returns to the Festival with the latest installment of her epic-in-the-making film series — whose cult status has grown exponentially since last year’s Festival. Castration Movie Chapter iii. Junior Ghosts—Premorphic Drift sees Weard putting her own spin on the most timeless (and tiresome) of trans film stories: the coming out story. But for those who have yet to experience Weard’s audacious, postmodern cinematic universe, each movie is safe to venture into without having seen the others. Anthology i and ii are streamable on Letterboxd and Kanopy whether you want to arrive prepared to Chapter iii or leave the screening thirsty for more!
