The comedy Theater Camp follows the eccentric staff running a scrappy theater camp in upstate New York. After its indomitable and beloved founder (played by the hilarious Amy Sedaris) falls into a coma, they must band together with her clueless “crypto-bro” son to keep the thespian paradise afloat.
Also screening at the SXSW Film Festival this past March, Theater Camp won a Special Jury Award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival for its incredible ensemble cast which includes co-director Molly Gordon (Shiva Baby, Frameline43), co-writer Noah Galvin (Booksmart), Patti Harrison (Shrill), Ben Platt (Pitch Perfect), Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal), Ayo Edebiri (Bottoms, Frameline47), Caroline Aaron (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Nathan Lee Graham (Zoolander), and Owen Thiele (Dollface; How Moving, Frameline44). Co-written by Gordon, Galvin, Platt, and Nick Lieberman and based on a 2020 short film by the same name, Theater Camp marks the feature directorial debuts of both Molly Gordon and Nick Lieberman.
