Join Triple X — DJ, musician and lifelong student and collector of cult films — as she unveils a fabulous new clip show starring the leading women of erotic cinema in their ’60s and ’70s heyday. She will contextualize and expand upon her audiovisual montage with insights into the various subgenres featured, giving a sinful history lesson on this deliriously fascinating chapter in “paracinema,” “sexploitation” and “sinema” (among many other colorful terms used to describe it). How did this vast and vampy genre come about? Who were the primary filmmakers and actresses of this outsider underworld of cinema? Who were these films made for and where were they shown? Why is it important to appropriate these films for a gay and lesbian audience?
Take a trip down memory lane with Triple X’s selection of classic, made-for-straight-men movies that have been reclaimed for the ladies, featuring Swedish wildcats, frisky inmates, sinning nuns, lesbian vampires and a whole array of astonishingly sexed-up women. Compiled from nearly twenty different sexploitation films spanning the years of 1965 through the early 1980s, this hot presentation is guaranteed to make you smile. Films include Venus in Furs (1969), Daughters of Lesbos (1968), Chained Girls (1965), Score (1973), Emmanuelle (1974), Ilsa, The Wicked Warden (1977) and Bare Behind Bars (1980).
