Frameline Completion Fund Now Accepting Applications
The Frameline Completion Fund provides grants to
emerging and established lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
filmmakers. The Fund seeks to provide a much-needed source of funding
for LGBT artists constantly struggling to secure the funding needed to
complete their works. Grants ranging from $5,000 to $7,500 are
available for works that represent and celebrate our diverse stories
and reflect LGBT life in all its complexity and richness.
For over 15 years Frameline has provided grants to help ensure that
LGBT films are completed and viewed by wider audiences. Nearly 100
films have been completed with assistance from the Frameline Film &
Video Completion Fund including LAST CALL AT MAUD’S, GO FISH, BROTHER
TO BROTHER, MAGGOTS AND MEN, THE COCKETTES, ZERO DEGREES OF
SEPARATION, PARIAH and FREEHELD.
Submissions are being accepted for documentary, educational, narrative,
animated or experimental projects about lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender people and their communities. The Fund also seeks to bring
new work to under-served audiences; with this in mind, we especially
encourage applications by women, people of color and transgender
persons.
The deadline for this year’s submissions will be October 5th, 2009. Entries
must be postmarked by this date. Awards will be announced by December 31st, 2009.
