Partnering with Frameline
Foundations play a significant role in ensuring that Frameline fulfills its mission and remains a critical LGBTQ+ media arts leader for future generations. As vital partners in all our endeavors, foundations contribute general operating support and program-specific funding that make these programs possible:
San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, which attracts more than 60,000 attendees each year and screens over 100 award-winning films from around the world;
Frameline Encore, a free film series highlighting diverse, socially relevant works presented year-round at venues in the SF Bay Area;
Youth in Motion, which distributes a new collection of films and LGBTQ+ curriculum to address issues like bullying, transphobia, and gender identity and expression FREE to schools and community groups in all 50 states. Nearly 27,000 students participate each year, helping to creating safer environments;
Voices, which provides free online access via computer or mobile device to some of the best LGBTQ+ films by and about people of color, transgender people, youth, and elders. Through Voices, we provide safe access to our stories for those living in places where anti-transgender laws, persecution, and discrimination are painfully present;
Completion Fund, Completion Fund, which awards grants each year to emerging and established filmmakers for a new group of projects that span an array of genres, employ dynamic storytelling, and maintain fierce commitment to authentic representation of the richness found within our LGBTQ+ communities. This ensures that a continued array of diverse LGBTQ+ artistic visions is brought to fruition and to Frameline audiences.
We welcome the opportunity to establish new partnerships with others in the foundation community.
