Who are you and where are you from?
John Lobato, Rodeo, Ca.
How long have you been a Frameline member?
5 years - I Think.
What do you look forward to in the Festival and what makes you keep coming back?
I love all the Q&A's - It's really Cool Listening to the Filmmakers talk about how they were able to get their film made.
What's the most fun / craziest / exciting / life-changing moment that ever happened to you during the Festival?
I would have to say The Closing Night Film & Party are a lot of fun since they coincide with the ending of PRIDE and the people I meet at PRIDE will usually go to the Closing Night Film & Party.
What's your favorite film that played at the Festival?
I would have to say DARE, Breakfast with Scot, and Gun Hill Road would be at the top of my list.
If, for one day, you could meet / be / date one character from queer film history, who would it be and why?
Harvey Milk - I worked as an extra in the film Milk and I was not really familiar with his story. After looking him up, it would have been so cool to hang out with him for a bit.
In one sentence, what does Frameline mean to you?
Fantastic non-mainstream films that will make your heart smile (this is for the Festival). A Place to get right information from without any funny looks (this is for the organization).
When you're not enjoying queer film, what else do you do? (You can talk about your job, family, hobbies, other work in the community, etc.)
I LOVE films of all genres. I am a Cinephile that has memberships to about a dozen film related organizations. I can find the beauty in almost every film I've seen - whether it be a "B" type film to "Block Buster" type film. It's also a lot of fun for me to go to these small One Screen Movie Houses where the Owner/Operator is there working it.
