Ever wonder what the apocalypse, talking penises and a gay cartoon musical have in common? We’re not sure either, but they’re all subjects in amazing animated queer films brought to life in our annual animated program
Here's what Sam had to say about the film:
"Filmmakers bust out the magic markers, smocks and glue sticks to bring you this collection of shorts that is a feast for the eyes and the imagination! You’ll fall in love with a swim instructor, tap your foot to a split-screen chance encounter, meet two radical queers at the end of the world, journey with LGBT refugees, dream of genderqueer passion, sing naked behind bars, dive into gender and sexuality with quite the “alternative” priest, and get a behind-the-scenes peek at an artistic collaboration between Alison Bechdel and Riva Lehrer. With bright colorful cutouts, textures, and more little red hearts than you’ll know what to do with, Queermation is a shorts program that you won’t want to miss!"

From the fashionable stylings of burly transmen to fairy tales of animated transwomen to the first music video by local folk-twang singer/songwriter StormMiguel Florez, this year’s crop of Transtastic! films features an exciting and eclectic representation of our trans community
Here's what Sam had to say about the film:
"This wonderfully diverse collection of trans shorts span the genres from documentary and narrative, to animation and puppetry, and invite you into stories that include day-to-day gender struggle, genderqueer passion, emotions in the form of sweaters, and a son’s letter of love and acknowledgement of shared pasts to his mother. These films are a reflection of our trans community: complex, varied, and beautiful in our bodies, identities and experiences—a reminder that we will forever be TRANSTASTIC!"
