Frameline Distribution is proud to release four new DVDs as part of its home video collection this June.  These are films that literally can't be found anywhere else! Here's our the last one:

Tricia's Wedding

FtFThe world-famous Cockettes enact Tricia Nixon's wedding to Edward Cox on June 11, 1971. Hurtme O. Hurtme, television correspondent, covers the wedding and interviews celebrities in attendance such as Golda Mier, Indira Ghandi, Jaquelyn Onassis, Queen Elizabeth, and Elizabeth Taylor. Coretta King sings. During the reception, Eartha Kitt puts LSD in the punch. All hell breaks loose. See the drag troupe whose performances were snubbed by the likes of Angela Landsbury, Andy Warhol and Gore Vidal! Witness the political satire and see for yourself why Truman Capote called the Cockettes “[T]he most outrageous thing I have ever seen!” And here's an excerpt about the David Greenburg's book Nixon's Shadow:The History of an Image:
One such episode [of satirist investigation] occurred when [Nixon’s Chief of Staff H.R.] Haldeman caught wind of a 1971 film called Tricia’s Wedding . A soft-porn film of thirty minutes, it starred a San Francisco troupe of transvestites and other performers called the Cockettes and depicted the president’s daughter’s marriage to Ed Cox in drag. The chief of staff convened a secret screening of the film for White House aides to decide what action to take, though, as John Dean noted, none was necessary, since the film ‘died a natural death.’
